Default Installing Aftermarket stereo

I just bought a 1997 disco. I was wondering if anyone knew how to deal with the factory amp for the sub and the speakers. I want to put my pioneer cd player in it and the wiring on the factory stereo is pretty foreign to me and I've installed my fair share of stereos in my time.

check in the audio section. don't think poorly of yourself about not knowing the wiring. It confuses the best of them. Me i just kept mine stock after I looked at it. I know a headache for me when I see one. the audio section is the best info for your question.

Thanks Duboff, I'm starting to think that stock is the way to go. I'm just gonna put my XM in and start looking for an add on CD changer.

I just replaced mine, got all needed things from crutchfield. You have to get an amp bypass and wiring harness. this was the best place I found

I had already replaced the speakers, so all I had to do was the headunit. Also I have an extra wiring harness I can get it to you real cheap if interested. I think the harness was $20 and the amp bypass was $25 from crutchfield... let me know if I can help more my truck is the same year as yours and like I said its all fresh on my mind since I just got done

How much you want for the harness?? And is that amp bypass the universal sound system interface thing that Crutchfield has for 30 bucks? Thanks for the advice, I'm probably gonna dig in again this week.
