Default Installing DI third member onto a DII

I have purchased a complete DI third member (ARB installed) for my DII. The shop that is installing the equipment has told me that the drive line is too short and has a different bolt pattern than the new DI third member. I have done a few internet searches and found that the flange can possibly be swapped out from the DII third member or replaced all together. Can anyone shed anymore light? Disco Mike are you available for a quick call?

Thanks!

Sounds like someone either replaced the 3-bolt rotoflex flange on the D1 diff with a 4-bolt flange to use a regular u-joint, or did that to yours and the D1 still has the 3-bolt. It's easy to swap flanges from one to the other. All you need is either a new nylock nut, if yours has a 4-bolt flange, or some loctite, if yours has the 3-bolt.

Default problem fixed

Mike...I talked to Sean (Bill's daughter) at GB. She took part in a three way call with the dip@@@@ installer to help him figure out how to work with a driveline. It sounds like they took the driveline apart for some reason and did not put it back together correctly. Funniest thing was the guy had a huge attitude when a “girl” got on the line assuming she didn't know what she was talking about and ended up getting his butt handed to him. I had a great time listening in while she explained to him how differentials actually worked and exactly how they messed up. At the end of the day she was able to walk him through the install and the rear end is finally complete. I can’t wait to go meet the guy in person so he can eat a little more crow. For those of you that ever need an upgraded drive train part Great Basin has gone way above and beyond to help me out and I will definitely send them business in the future.

Thanks again Mike!
