Default Installing Sunroof

My Disco did not come with double sunroofs. My dear hubby wants to put at least the front one in. I am VERY hesitant. I also want to put a different roof rack on and don't know if the sunroof would interfere. If anyone has thoughts or suggestions please! All would be appreciated!

Okay - so apparently installing a sunroof would not be a good idea since I have gotten zero response!! That's just as I suspected - I didn't want to in the first place!!

Installing a sun roof will be a big job but is workable. As for the rack, there are many racks that are made to clear the sun roof when open.
How mwchanical is your husband, has he ever tried installing a sun roof before and what one is he thinking about installing?

Together we both are pretty mechanical - what one of us is lacking the other makes up for. We had not really picked one out, and he was thinking he may have someone do it. He had been tossing the idea around - I'm still pretty opposed to it. I was thinking of maybe a low profile rack. He hasn't ever installed one( another reason I'm against it!!)

Am I to assume you are talking about a simple "pop-up" sunroof install, and not a motorized retracting type?. If so, I would partially pull the headliner to get a peek up there first. There may be bracing and other stuff in the way-- that has to be considered. A motorized retractable install would be very complex, and I would think a job only for a specialist.

He was thinking pop up - The roof is already "indented" from factory, just needs to be cut out.
