Default Intake manifold sealant question

Hey guys, what Sealant do you guys use on the intake manifold gasket and where exactly is it needed? I read to use RTV clear but that didnt seem like it would be strong enough. Also I read that the sealant is needed only in the block notches by the heads but then read somewhere else that its also needed around all the holes under and on top of the gasket... Any advice?

I used rtv black on on the notches especially where the end seals met the block.

The rave only says the notches, just dont go crazy else you'll actually be hurting yourself than helping....a very thin layer

permatex non-hardening on the notches and along the U where the gasket seats.
