Default Interesting HD RotoFlex:

While looking around for the 35mm thick RotoFlex replacement I came across this interesting looking replacement for the BMW's. It's a HD poly bushing unit vs rubber in a 6061 Aluminum body.

Yes, interesting. Maybe one day I'll give it a shot, plus the red has to make it faster.

I use one like this on my GTO, believe from Revshift. Have kind of a custom driveshaft setup goin on. The more you can stiffen the driveline up the better in my opinion.

I replaced the one on my rover with just a stock style replacement type a while back so don't really have need for something like this. I remember comparing it with a spare GTO one I had laying aeound at the time and I believe there were some differences in spacing though... can't remember. I do think the GTO one can be cross referenced to a BMW part number but not so sure about rover, especially considering the differences I noticed when comparing. But who knows, might be able to find one. Maybe they were the same and I'm just not remembering right.

Also available in green ;-P , and, if you buy from FCP it's guaranteed for life. The colors my be related to the durometer of the urethane, or maybe simply because racecar. That said, as with any poly bushing, NVH goes up and you lose the dampening properties of the rubber. In my opinion, if you're trying to improve launch and get a more direct connection with the ground then these fit the bill however I think that especially for low speed offroading, the flex of the OE design is more desirable. I'm not saying these are a bad idea, but while you may be reducing the chance of failure by using the aluminum and urethane version, you're also transferring that stress to a different part of the driveline.

Except for the rounder shape of the LR version, the BMW guibo is otherwise dimensionally the same as far as thickness and bolt circle so the one in the link above will fit the Disco.

Yeah I'm not sure being stiff for off road would help, but I just wanted to post it.
