Default Think it’s time for a replacement!?!?

Had slight vibration during acceleration. Front drive shaft has been replaced. . .

Could this be the culprit?

I’ve seen the rear donut look much worse before it fails.

If you replace for piece of mind or to ensure, keep that as spare.

The crack in the upper righthand corner of picture looks somewhat substantial...(lighting and shadowing in photos can make things look worse)...so l'd replace. Get a good name brand or OEM...because we see lots of premature failures with substandard ones. Driveline and brake systems are two areas someone should rarely cut corners.

What is your opinion on the Britpart donut? The price difference between it and an OEM is big, but like you say, not wise to cut corners in driveline.

Purchase OEM

I found slight cracking in my donut like you have a picture of. I purchased an off brand, just like you found the price to be substantial - thinking I would play smart and safe. Probably 120k on it

I was very surprised how quickly it didn’t last, say few thousand miles. I had to change it in a parking lot mid commute - and the way it broke down was very unpleasant. Lucky it didn’t cause a heap of damage
thankfully I had old oem as spare with me.

Always go for the 30mm German made GKN #TVF100010G or #249782 aptly named "Giubo".
There is also a Febi Bilstein #26148 35mm one for BMWs but you will need longer M12x70 bolts for that one.
