I stumbled across this last night and I'm seriously thinking about installing one on a D2.
I'd install it on the straight section of 1.25 coolant hose that runs thru the upper shroud. Then without a shadow of a doubt I could keep an eye out for bubbles, debris, and it would look pretty darn cool to boot. The unit I'm looking at is around 60.00 for a viewing area of 4 inches. I might be able to get it cheaper if I look around.
This is a super neat idea! What's it made out of? Keep us up to date. As much as I like having a 100% plastic free cooling system, I might would consider something like that.
Trying to think of reasons not to do this and the only one I can come up with is that the clear tube won’t hold enough pressure and would fail. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to try it
Yes the one I'm looking at is made out of NASA grade Pyrex Glass. Supposed to withstand 350F, and you can even use normal hose clamps with it. I'm going to go ahead pick one up.
