Default Interior ceiling lights always on - help would be appreciated

My daughter can turn off her Disco 2 and remove the ignition key, but her ceiling dome lights front/back remain on and her orange circular ignition switch illumination remains on. Note: her radio turns off as expected.

She can manually turn off the front dome light, but manually turning off the rear dome light is ignored... it stays on with button pressed in or released.

I put my Foxwell NT510 on the ODB2 and as soon as I read codes or access either the engine or BCU both dome lights turn off.

The scanner says that all doors and hood are closed.

When I remove the scanner from the OBD2 port the dome lights turn back on no matter what else I do.

Thoughts appreciated, as I'm stumped.

OK, I disconnected the battery overnight. Today with it reconnected the interior lights work normally again.

I’ve had similar issues with mine. It’s not drained a battery, so meh. Worst case I guess I’d just turn the interior lights off via the switch as that has always worked.
