Anybody know if the cigarette lighter or ashtray or ignition switch are supposed to light up when you turn on headlights? I got a 1997 discovery se.

 

I also have a '97 and the ignition lights up when you open the door, and yes the cig and stuff do light up when you turn on the lights.
Burnt out bulbs are very common on these, do the ones on the gear selector still light? How about the clock?

 

replaced bulb in clock and all other lights are workin but cant find where the bulbs are in ashtray or lighter or ignition

 

Sorry, but I do not know how to replace those.

 

No light for the ashtray. Your gonna love this one..... I had my center console out to replace the shift tape on my gear selector. I put a new light in my lighter because it looked to me the only way to get at it was to pull the whole console. (I try to look for poor engineering on things like this.) I relly think you have to pull the whole center console...sorry.

 

There is a light behind the cig lighter (Saw it cause my Lighter is real loose ( have to find a caseing for it )) Also the light behind my clock and AC do not come on, I was hoping theres a fuse for the lights I could check, but i can not find one listed for the lights

 

little bulbs. Swing by the dealer and pick them up.. The clock is a little tricky, but www.roverparts.com has a tech tip on removing it...
