Does anyone have a way to repair/bodge the interior A pillar trim piece with snapped off plastic fixing tabs?

I've looked at it and its got me beat, other than a really big blob of that black tacky stuff.

 

That actually should work. Altho careful not to make a mess.

When I got my truck, I removed A-pillars to track down water leaks. I was surprised that all the tabs had been previously broken, and they were affixed with little dabs of black butyl rubber rope (the stuff the door water shield I think is attached with). Seemed to work fine.

I found a good set at a salvage yard and swapped them in though properly.
