Default Interior Water Leak

I’m having an interior water leak in the passenger floorboard. Only happens at heavy rain. The windshield cowl was cracked but last weekend I plastic welded it and then epoxied it to seal. I’m still getting water in the floor. I know the top seal against the glass was split when I took it off, would that allow water in?

I’m having a hard time understanding the path the water takes with those cracked cowls. Is it sliding down and jumping the lip on the fresh air intake?

I don't think the top seal against the glass is very hardy against complete water ingress, even when new. Thats said, it probably diverts most water and any that gets past should accumulate in the trough below and run out the drain ports on the sides. It could be the water is leaking from the top corner of the windshield by the rain gutter corner and running down the A pillar to the floor. I have a small leak on my drivers side there that I need to fix. When exposed I have been smearing sealant on all of the old body panels joints that were factory sealed as maintenance. The old sealant becomes brittle and can crack with body flexing creating hairline cracks that can leak.

It’s common for water to run into the blower motor intake. I made a plastic shield over mine to divert the water ingress.

Sorry tn, I should have taken photos but it’s below the air intake mesh so I can’t get a shot of it now. But Tony is right, if that windshield seal is in good condition you don’t need to do the mod I did.
If this is your leak it is important to fix it. We got the Disco for basically scrap price because of this leak. Water had gotten into the ECU, corroding the PCB, causing the vehicle to not run.

I think I'm going to purchase that windshield seal and try that before I pull that cowl off again.
