Default Intermittent coolant leak ?!?

I had a coolant leak pop up the other day, and the best I could track it down was the water pump. Not the pump itself, but it was dripping off the driver's underside of the pump, not through the weep hole. So i figure, new pump gasket and see if that fix's it.

Well, today, I went through 4 heat and cool cycles to get it to leak again. Wouldn't do it. Nothin'.

So i pull the shroud and fan to better see whats goin on, and I see water marks on top of the pump were it was wet at one time. Lookin at it, I am thinking either the metal pipe to the intake was leaking or more likely where the hose clamps to it, and it ran down on top of the pump, around the edge, and dripped off the bottom.

I know its hard to tell from a pic, but look plausible to you guy's???

Not to derail your thread but I think you need a new serpentine belt.

most of the big chain autoparts places will lend you equipment like a preasure testers, in hopes that you will buy the replacement part form them.

Using a preasure tester is really the best way to go, as you know once you overheat these things they get costly.

Oh I should say "i believe" that the factory and some aftermarket coolants can be seen under UL light.

We all know you really don't want to pull the front off that motor, unless you really have too"

Oh, I know . I think I will use a presurizer to test it, and ifI can't get it to leak again, may just re-seal the whole upper end down to/including the head gaskets and be done with it.

It must have leaked at that pipe/hose connection at one point, as the PO kept all the spring clamps on every hose connection, except that single one. It has a worm-gear type hose clamp. Hmmm.
