Just saying I was having the same issue and went through this forum high and low trying everything everybody pointed me to. In the long run all I did was waste a lot of money chasing a slipped sleeve, thinking I had a bad oil pump, or a stuck lifter. After tearing apart an entire engine the only thing that solved my ticking was using different gas.

 

So you're saying you did all of that, put it back together and it was still ticking UNTIL you changed gas? I'm more inclined to think something you did while it was taken apart, or simply taking it apart and cleaning parts may have contributed more.

 

That baby is hammering...dont drive it! You obviously know which side of the engine is ticking (I mean HAMMERING), you need to tear it down before something catastrophic happens to your engine. That has NOTHING to do with gas. MO
