Default An issue with my new Disco 2

So, as of Thursday last week I own a 2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 Se7. I hadn't researched it until yesterday, but it has the whole Oil light issue. I know its apparently the 2003 and 2004 models that have the oil pump issue, but should I be worried? It kicks on at 770 RPMs or below. Its got 100,900 miles on it. I don't know when the last oil change was, nor what type of oil is in it. So do you all think I should get an oil change and put something like 5w30 in it (from what I've read), before I start replacing parts?

the '02s have a different engine than the '03s. Now that does not mean you can't have an oil pump failure, the gears sometimes crack. I would put in Rotella T6 5w40 and a Napa Gold filter and then take some oil pressure readings at idle and at 2000 rpms (cold and hot engine) then get back to us.
