Angry (Resolved) Issue installing oil pressure gauge??

Hello everyone,

I purchased everything necessary to install the oil pressure gauge from a previous post. Here is the link:

The only difference is I purchased a cyberdyne green oil pressure gauge. Now the receiving unit and the adapter that is listed in the above link won't thread together more than maybe a 1/4 turn. If a give any more tension it starts to cross thread.

I even bought from the ebay seller that was recommended "authentic boosting"
The label for the adapter states: Sensor Adapter Oil Water Pressure Temp M20x1.5 - 1/8 NPT.

The instructions for the sending unit state:Install the 1/8 NPT oil temperature sender.

I have a tap and die set and my 1/8 NPT fits both??? I am about to go mad over this issue and do not understand it. Has anyone else run into this or know what the problem could be?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Update***

Went to Lowe's for the tap and drill bit also listed in the add for those wanting to just use the plug that is in the vehicle. The adapter evidently was off a bit of something and not enough material was cut when they cut it as well. I drilled all the way through the adapter from the back side (where no threads were before) and took the tap all the way into the adapter. Now my pressure gauge screws right in. Now I get to actually touch the vehicle for the first time today to start hooking all this up.

Did your oil filter leak stop after installing the new O-ring? and did you reuse the bolts or bought bew ones?
I broke one of the screws, when putting them back, after I removed the broken screw and also the 3 other screws, I noticed that the other screws were also close to breaking. I got some M6X1.0 bolts from hardware store, which are only 2mm or so shorter. Afraid to not break them again, I probably did not torque them enough so the area was still leaking. Retightened them again and I still see some oil on one of the screw. Land rover has a TSB on the defective housing, I am wondering if I need a new housing or need new screws and another new O-ring?

Mine did stop after installing the new O-ring up to this point. I was not aware of this TSB so I will keep an eye out for that issue and find a replacement part if necessary and thanks for bringing this issue to my attention. I used the same screws that were in it. Not sure if they had been replaced before I gained ownership of this vehicle but they were in good shape.

Haven't had it out much lately as I have the ceiling out and painting it since the fabric was falling and installing an oil pressure gauge.
