Default And its back....the tick!!

Well after a 6+ month hiatus the tick is back. Thought I eliminated it with my new radiator/180 tstat and fixing all my coolant leaks while switching to rotella 15w40.

Its been intermittent for a couple of days now and happens at most temperature ranges (178 - 200 from my UG). I dont have enough data points yet but it seems to go away when the truck is facing down a hill oddly enough. No oil light or any codes and runs perfectly otherwise.

So annoying...

When I first put in the 180 tstat my tick went away as well, but came back after a few months. Now it usually ticks when warm, but only at idle. It will go away if I go on a long road trip, but will come back after a few days. It's been like this for almost two years, weird and annoying, but runs fine otherwise.

I put some mmo in my engine and in my case my engine knock went away, but I have heard others say it cures their engine ticks as well.

Bummer. You can either live with it or pin the liners.
