With the 30th anniversary of the original movie approaching, I've decided to dedicate my summer vacation to transforming my Disco 2 into a Jurassic Park staff vehicle. I've already placed an order for the decals and I'm still contemplating whether I should go for an exact replica of the jeeps in the movie or create my own unique paint job. For the front bumper, I'm considering using a standard one and adding an aftermarket bull-bar. Fortunately, I came across a boat accessories company on Alibaba that can provide me with 90s-style searchlights. It'll cost me around $400 + shipping for a set of four lights. What's great is that each light comes with its own control switch and is fully motorized and adjustable, allowing for independent orientation from inside the truck. (A really useful feature when there might be raptors out there .)
I have attached some pictures of the car's current state and of reference images I am looking at to do the work, with the thought in mind that it would have been a maintenance vehicle in the park, had it been open in 1999. (Soft top jeeps in a dinosaur park? Do you WANT to become a hot-pocket?!)
I'd be curious to get everyone's ideas on what else this car would need to look and perform like something you'd use on a dinosaur island, and what the best colour scheme for it would be.
