You guys are wonderful; thanks so much for the well wishes and encouragement.
When you come in on Monday - and you get a voice mail to call your employer on the phone first thing in the morning it is never good.
Survived the day.
Got my orders for what to finish this week.
I did thrash on what to do with the two cars.
I did shine up the Saab inside and out. The Saab is totally ready for a photo shoot on Craigslist.
I am truly hoping the Discovery 2 can get 1,200 miles back to Seattle.
I get a rumble at 70 so I will go 60.
In many ways this job and coming to Boulder CO was interesting.
When I was here two weeks or less, I was looking at Craigslist and found the Discovery II for sale with a blown head gasket.
The owner was not sure what was wrong with it.
The shop here said
60% chance blown head gaskt
40% chance blown engine.
The girl who owned it did not want to put $600 more into it tearing it down
just to find the engine was done and toast.
so she put it onto Craigslist.
I bought it from her and took it apart in the lower parking lot at work
on nights and weekends.
I used a car battery and an inverter to power a shop light.
It was a fun experience..
Never did cylinder heads on a D2 out in the "wilds".
I had did the cylinder heads on a D1 in 2009 so figured I would get thru it.
Here's to you all!
Raising my glass.

Presenting the Discovery II
Presenting the Bouilder CO based Discovey II.
I think it was from Chicagoland. Went to LA.
And, then here to Boulder.
One family owned it - from Father to Daughter I think.
Then to me.

InciWeb the Incident Information System: Colorado Incidents (the site must be experiencing a ton of traffic - hard to reach it right now) and it's not even current as the fire near Boulder isn't listed. Watching the morning news this morning, I believe they showed 4 contained wildfires and 11 uncontained wildfires across the state.
Also, we broke the all time high temperature in Denver with 105* the other day. Yesterday, we hit 105 again. Just insane.

I wish I could joke about it, but it's very real here. Went through an accountability exercise today at work in order to consolidate information regarding any employees affected by the fires so assistance could be offered.

After listening to the above feed for a bit, it's very real that homes are burning to the ground in populated areas.

I feel bad for them too! It sucks that there is nothing they can do about it. One potential solution for future home building is rooftop sprinklers. Hell, why not have one on every home in every city? Your neighbors house catches on fire the embers blow on your roof and now your house is on fire.. But if you have a sprinkler maybe it lessens the potential of your house burning? Roof Top Sprinkler Systems
