I love the experience of travelling in it. You sit high in the cabin, so you look down out the windows.
It's comfortable and somewhat luxurious without being girly.
Love the flat surfaces for putting stuff.
Love the look.
It's the easiest vehicle I've ever worked on. Which is fortunate.
Literally the only thing I don't love about it is its propensity for head gasket failure.
Well, and also the gas mileage but that's just part of the deal.

I couldn't afford a Rangie when I bought my first disco in 99. So other than gas mileage it's been great to drive, especially in places normal vehicles can't go.
I never lifted my 99 but then I don't deliberately take it offroad and push beyond it limits. But Mexico, Grand Canyon,Colorado AZ and NM provided us with many fun challenges.
We were usually alone. No other vehicles so it had to perform. The 04 looks like it has never been offroad. I think it was a mom mobile. 80000 and still looks new.
