K&N air filter, myth?

The K&N air filter is the dirtest air filter on the market, allowing way to much fine dust thru and into the engine.
As for D2's, the particular MAF used on them is way to sensitive to dust and oil mist and can fail, not only on the D2's but also on other vehicle like the VW's that use the same MAF.
Do yourself a favot and stay with a factory air filter for a better running engine.

I am in no way looking for a preform acne increase

- The RPI warnings against supercharging should to be taken with a grain of salt since they sell products which compete with a supercharger mod.
- If you have a 3.9 (distributor), you can adjust the timing to fit
- If you keep the boost low (<5 psi) GEMS can recompute and account for it
- If you keep the boost low, reliability is no different than a N/A engine
- If you keep the boost low, there is still a definite power increase (especially if you mod exhaust too). Depending on your goals though, it may not be enough of a boost to justify the humbug and cost of supercharging.

GM M90 SUPERCHARGER 3800 GTP | eBay
$120 BIN
Certainly not the biggest waste of money for an experiment.
Im sure many have spent more on a bushgard or roofrack that ended up laying around the garage.

I know I have not taken it above 3500 rpms, accidental push of sport button and getting on highway in 3rd. Scared the heck out of me, I prefer below 3k for my driving. 3K is about 80mph in my truck.

LOL put the shifter at "N" and hit the skinny pedal.
You cant always drive conservatively. You need to knock that crud off the valves and valve seats once in a while. It's like a woman. She wants to be driven hard now and then but not all the time... and even that's not down to a science so...
If it feels good and right, go for it.
