Using a small flat blade screwdriver pop the trim piece off of the top of the gear shift ****.
Tighten the nut.
Remove key.

Your truck is not all the way in park because your shift cable has stretched and needs to be tightened.

Yes, 98% of the time on a DI that is the problem.

Actually if it is actually really stuck and wont come out and the vehicle doesn't come out when you release the ignition cylinder from the steering column then just have it rebuilt by a locksmith. Oh and take off both parts of the upper and lower cowl and use a long flat screwdriver or a chisel and bang on the shear bolts that are in and then bang them out until they loosen up and take out the ignition switch.

takes all of ten minutes to pull out the ignition switch to take to a locksmith.

My key gets stuck at least twice a week. Not sure if this has anything to do with anything but it works for me. I open my drivers door and push in the little door switch. Works everytime for some reason.

In the DI tech section there is a "how to" on how to rebuild/repair a ignition switch.

i got mine stuck in my 00 disco when i first got it, could never reproduce it but it kept happening. i pb blastered then graphite lubed it up ever so lightly, and didnt change the rate of occurance. then someone mentioned the switch on the shifter doesnt like limp wristed push into park... i give it a good solid push into park and havent ever had it get stuck in the ignition since then. not sure but maybe you have the same or simliar glitch?
