I just drove up in the garage, everything was fine. I turned the truck off, but the key will not go back enough to come out. So I tried to crank it again, it would not do anything. Battery is not dead, everything inside works, radio, wipers, lights, etc.

Please help!!

 

are you certain the transmission is in park?

 

Yes I searched "stuck key" and that is the first thing I checked..

 

can you move the gear shifter? if so try moving it through the gear range a few times and then into park.

 

There are people more knowledgeable than I, but maybe the ignition switch is bad?

 

I am guessing this is a DII discovery?

If the switch is bad and it won't crank, am I going to have to get it towed or is there something I can do?

 

most vehicles you can jump the ignition switch and drive it as long as the key is in the correct position and the steering wheel is not locked, but I am not certain if you can do this with a rover. Somebody on here should know the answer.

 

Put your foot on the brake, turn the key to "run" and then shift to neutral, and then try and start the truck.
If it starts then you were not all the way in park.
Are you parked on a hill?
If so set the parking brake before trying to shift into park.
