Default Key won't turn in door handle

I have been on this forum quite a while but I don't recall this problem being discussed.

My older son has Redrover at the beach this summer so I don't have it here to diagnose.

He called me to say he was unable to turn the key in the door lock. I'm familiar with the opposite problem - the key spins in the lock because the lock shaft has broken - but I don't recall ever hearing about the door lock not turning.

For now he can lock and unlock the truck with the keyless entry fob but we'd like to have everything working as it should.

Have any of y'all seen this problem? Thanks.

I recall another thread about this issue.

Has he tried to spray any type of lubricant directly into the lock?

Also...has the lock been tampered with (i.e. someone tried to break in).

No tampering evident. He'll be here next Friday so I will have the truck to work on for a couple of weeks. That gives us time to take everything apart and see what's going on. I just wanted to see if anyone here has any specific experience. Thanks.

X1 .............. try spraying some silicon spray using a spray straw into the lock mechanism, it might work but no guarantees.

1. Lube the key.
2. +1 lube the lock if 1st step no help.
3. Still no joy, tear it apart and look.

I have the same problem with my lock. And no locksmith around here can fix it. Even worst, i dont have the remote. My truck is always un locked. I got a set from ebay but i dont want to bring separate keys. The other set i have has the starter cylinder key but never have time to install it yet.
