Unhappy Driver door handle, key cylinder doesn't turn

Hello All. Well after taking a brick to the window last night, I was finally able to get in the truck (2001 D2). Had no other choice, 2 locksmiths tired, but had no luck. Apart from acouple of actuators going bad, neither the alarm nor the key hole worked . Good news is the truck starts and is drivable, but not able to lock.

* Here is my problem.....the driver door (central lock) key hole, doesn't turn either left or right when I put in the key. When I insert the key, it is stuck in position. I have tired even applying some force, but was afraid to break the key in there. What are my options ?? Some guy down here said he would charge like $650.00 to change the whole keys, locks, programming, etc.... I know there has to be a cheaper way. Even if I have the carry around a different key for the door, I am ok with that.

Can this lock be fixed on a junkyard budget ? I still am going to remove the handle tonight to see exactly what the damage is.

Any help, would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Leo

Cary, welcome to the forum! I see this was your first post.

I had this problem a year and a half ago. My forum thread with pictures detailing the problem and the solution (in the case of my truck) is linked below.
