Dont have a key fob. But was informed most likely, that my tranmitter for the keyless entry was removed. To be honest, i think many things in my truck were stripped. BUT. Without taking to a dealer, what can i do, to see if i still have an alarm ready and keyless entry. No point having a key programed if it wont work. Was thinking about going to a 3-1 remote start, alarm, keyless viper unit. Any suggestions, advice? Critisism?

 

Does the little red light on the instrument cluster come on and flash when you lock the doors with the key?
Do the hazards flash when you lock the doors?

 

No, i lock the doors drivers side with the ignition key, the doors lock, nothing else.

Something i think i mentioned before, when i turn the key over for power, when the ding tones go off. my doors lock once then unlock. Does your car auto lock at all? when put in gear or started. I think its messed up, same with wipers, wont do a full swipe unless the lever is held.

 

FWIW - When you lock the doors with the lock (verses the remote) the hazards won't flash (at least on my 95).

 

I just bought my Disco last week. The driver's side door won't lock at all, unless pressed from the inside. The Passenger side front door will only lock from the outside, so I have to open the back door by hand, reach in, lock the front door, then lock the back door and shut it...The alarm light never comes on. I have the same question..how do I check to see if it is worth getting the key fob? (it didn't come with one).

 

I do not know how to tell if the alarm is still hooked up or not. Sorry guys. Maybe someone who does will chime in.
