Default keyless entry

Ok. Just got the Disco and neither of the key fobs work. I've put new batteries in both of them, but nothing.

Hubby's the mechanical guy; can he reset them or do I need to go to the dealer for this ?

Sorry but that is a dealer only thing on a DII.
If those remotes are totally bust then you need to buy a new one from the dealer.
If you buy one off of e-bay most dealers will not program it for you.

I have never run into this problem, but in looking through the RAVE Owner's handbook 01MY there is a NOTE: If the handset does not operate after the vehicle has been parked for a long period, unlock the driver's door with the key and then try again. IF the handset still fails to operate, enter the EKA code using the procedure shown later in this section.

So, you might check to see if you have a security information card with the vehicle, and also make sure your owner's manual states the same as whet I quoted. (pages 14 and 18, 19 on the PDF version I'm looking at)

Ok. So today I went to the dealer to have the remotes programmed and they tell me that they can't program them because the receiver module in the truck seems to be bad. Arrgh

i did not have any remotes when i got my DII so rather than spending HUNDREDS at the dealer i got a $30 locking kit (audiovox) of e-bay and added that. Best part is i can lock the truck with the windows 1/4 open and the alarm wont go off because of the wind.

Down side is no super lock and you lose the use of the door switch in the dash.. still it was worth $30 shipped to me. half an hour to install too.. super easy. Just let me know if you want more info.
