I need a remote for a '96 Discovery. But I really like the all-in-one design of the Series 2 remotes/keys. Could I use a Series 2 remote and key with my Series 1 Disco? Or are they different technologies.

This may be a dumb question but I am new to Land Rovers and eBay can be misleading.

 

They are not interchangeable.

 

I had a feeling they wouldn't be, but then on ebay it had "Works with Series I and II" on a listing for one of the all-in-one keys... it's crazy.
