Default Knock Sensor wiring Path

My 2000 Disco II does not have any wiring from the driver side knock sensor to the ECU. Where in the wiring harness is this drivers side knock sensor wiring path run? Apparently burned at the exhaust maniford and then cut off.

Pretty sure it runs behind the steering pump and into the harness somewhere up by the injectors. Definitely towards the front of the engine rather than backwards or straight up.

Can you look at the wire remnant that's still attached to the sensor to see if that is also braided?

I checked that. It is not the same wire and there should be 2 wires per the sensor, correct?

I will check. I pulled the entire engine bay harness off my parts truck because I was getting knock sensor errors so I should be able to identify the plug shape and the wire colours.
O2 sensors usually have braided wires I think, to reduce interference.

The knock sensor is braided and almost like a very thin coax cable. Mine needed repaired and it was difficult to track down cable but finally with enough googling I got it, soldered in and all good.

Thanks brivalen, I sourced stranded RG-58 coaxial cable (very small diameter). When it gets in and I am back in town, I will photo the repair and post back.
