Land Rover Discovery repair specialist in N. VA, DC, MD
Hellow all, a newbie with a question. I am looking for a Land rover Discovery specialist in the N. VA area. I bought this used 2001 LRD SII, and I hear this continuous whining noise. I took it to my dad's gas station repair shop and they said that something inside the transmission is loose. I am not sure about that, since I drove it from Dallas, TX a few days ago. I did get CARS Warranty, which covers the the main components of the vehicle, but they only pay up to 50/hour of labor, anything more I would have to shell out of my pocket. Can someone provide some real good workshops/mechanics in the N. VA/DC/MD area. Thanks.

there was some talk of a continuous whining noise in the pages here not sure if it relates to you. You may want to get up with atlanticbritish or roverparts.com they can point you towards a shop in your area that knows what is what. There are none around me in MS, but I am almost certain I saw an ad for one in MD? Let me know I will try to help if you can't find on your on.

I just wish I knew what kind of labor rates most of these places charge. Also, I did read the whining noise thread, a lot of people said that it could be the idler pulley, but this noise is there when the truck is started. So I am not sure.

something to try before you have your check book out. fine other type 2's in your area, and take them out for a drive. see if they make the same noise. some do have noises that are not usual to other vehicles. hope it helps, gotta love a rover. duboff

New shop in town!?!? Roverland 4X4 recently opened in the Eisenhower corridor in Alexandria. He is located right off the Eisenhower exit of 495. I met the owner.. nice guy, I spoke to him about work I need done, seemed on the level with pricing. I have no experience with the shop service, but will soon enough. http://roverland4x4.com/
