Default Land Rover Microcat Parts Catalog

If you want to use the LR parts catalog, this is how I did it.

1. Go to green-oval.com
2. Download Microcat Parts Catalog as .nrg file
3. Google Search ".nrg to iso converter"
4. Download a suitable program or trial version. (I believe I used Magiciso)
5. Covert the .nrg file to iso format.
6. Download WinRaR
7. Use WinRar and extract the new Microcat.iso file into a seperate folder in a desired location.
8. Once extracted, open the folder and the sub folder titled, "Crack and Instructions".
9. Follow the Instructions and enjoy.

What's cool about the program is that once you enter your vin, it tells you everything your rover came with from factory, build date, and what parts fit it. However it doesn't tell you any updated info that the dealer(s) may have on it since purchase like recall repairs, maintenance service...etc

I use it to cross reference part numbers and see exploded views of parts. Having it along with RAVE manual is cool.

(Sorry I couldn't be more helpful in explaining this process, maybe there is an easier way but I couldn't see paying $50 for it esp if it is free)

Don't always trust what Microcat throws at you just because you're in by VIN number. I speak from many personal experiences and getting pissed at my parts guys.

I got the program loaded with the icon on my desktop. I set my date to 09/2006 and when I run Microcat I get the message that an authorised dongle has not been found. Did you run into this?

YES! you are almost there!...

Find the folder you extracted the ISO into. From there you will see four folders. Click the first one named "Crack and Instructions"

You'll find a text file (which are the instructions on how to crack it) and you'll find "mg16.dll"

You'll need to copy that "mg16.dll" file and copy, paste, it to the following locations if the exist:

C:\MCLRE
C:\Windows\System
C:\Windows\System32 (wk2 or xp)
C:\WINNT\system32 (W2K)

"mg16.dll" is what tricks the program into working.

Picture 4: Enter User Name, Host Name, and a password.

That's it!

that's why i cross-reference the numbers... If any part number was updated after 2006, then there is a good chance the data in this version of Microcat will be off unless it was off to begin with! haha

I figured out the problem. The MG16.dll file was going in the wrong folder in Windows. It works now. Thanks for your help.
