I think a Honda Spree would be the best mode of transportation on the USVI, or at least for commuting any way.
They had a little write up on that phone in last months issue or LRW.
Water proof to 3?ft, shock proof to 15ft, freeze proof to -40*F and large buttons for gloved fingers.
It weighs like 44lbs and requires a small generator to run...but they zip tied it to the rim of a Defender and ran it around the off road track at Eastnor Castle and then made a phone call with it.
Pretty cool but not worth the $300.
I have never paid more than $100 for a cell phone and I buy mine off the web and then pop in my SIM card.

Ha!! I live in Oklahoma, right smack in the middle of Oil and Gas country and guess what I just paid.. $2.69 for 91 Octane..
