Ok, so I just re-ready your thread and you mention click, so just to clarify is the engine spinning over or not? If not - I am guessing the clicking sound is coming from the starter area or fuse box area, please check.

Loud click, starter area, that is your starter solenoid functioning but not your starter. Could be worn solenoid contactor or worn out starter brushes. You can test by laying a screwdriver across the two large lugs on the back of the starter effectively jumpering past the solenoid, if the starter/engine spins, you have a bad solenoid. If it does not, you either have worn out starter brushes or a locked engine, we will assume the first condition, but you can test with a wrench on the crankshaft bolt to see if you can turn the engine.

Soft click from the fuse box but no loud click from the starter area? The wire from the fuse box to the solenoid is broken or otherwise not in good shape.

Engine is spinning but not firing? As a last remedy before more involved troubleshooting you should enter the security code using the key turn sequence in the door, don't remember it at the moment but you should be able to find it on the forums. Beyond that we will need to verify fuel pump running/pressure, injector firing, spark plug firing, etc.

OK, does not sound like it is a security issue - go through the starter troubleshooting I outlined above. You likely need new starter brushes - easiest for most people to just replace the starter. They are not expensive. After you do the screwdriver jump test, bank on the starter with a hammer and I bet it will spin over. When the brushes wear out sometimes you can bang on it and get them to go one or two more times.

Hey Ex, went through what you said & it was the starter, jumped a few times it spun but then died again so, i had it taken out & will either try to get it fix or buy a new one.

I will keep you update once its reinstalled.

No spark is one of 2 things:

Coil packs
CPS - crankcase position sensor

How did you check for spark ?

A mechanic neighbor did, he told he doesnt know much about rovers but any help is appreciated.
A few months ago i changed the position sensor... Can it die that fast?

I would be suspect of any new part for sure. At least make sure it's still plugged in and tight.

I'd also loosen and tighten all your grounds. I once had a car do this for a bad ground.

@Chrisb_official I would not think so but it is an electronic part. If you have the RAVE your best bet is go through the section on the ignition system, it is all "electronic" you will need to if possible test each component.

But no spark is usually the CPS, I would not expect both coil packs to completely fail at the same time.
