I think i conveyed what I meant poorly. I mean how to kill it on off road adventures, not like dropping it off a building. And no matter what it will be rebuilt. This is purely for fun, this vehicle is now my off road and inclement weather vehicle. I could care less about body damage, and all those silly things. Im not throwing money into making it a super duper trail rig, but what i will do is attempt things out of its league (prolly at higher speeds to have momentum in my favor).

First test is a rollover, i have been dared. As soon as i find a good spot and a camera person im on it and ill post videos of the roll and recovery most likely.

I'd be careful with a roll over. If you're really dead set on killing it why don't you see if it can survive hydrolocking?

I still say donate it, there is a needy family out there with no way to better themselves because they cannot afford to buy a car, so they are forced to ride the bus or take a taxi, both of which greatly reduces where they can buy grocieries, see the doctor, etc.
It is a never ending cycle, cant afford to get to the store with the cheaper food prices because the bus does not go there, so they cant buy freash fruit/veggies or pay less for milk.
They have to use the health clinic, which you and I pay for.
If only they had a car...he could get a better job, she wouldnt have to shop at 7-11, the kids could go to a better school.
If only they had a car...they could break the cycle.
Change the oil, give it one last tank full of premium and drive it to your church and have them give it to a needy family.
My church does this kind of thing all the time.

And if feeling good about helping a needy family isint motivation enough, you get a huge tax credit for every donation, and cars are a huge tax credit.

ok, the water over the hood thing and the (in my case accidental) dirt bike ramp (dont ask) have been done adn the rover survived with little problem. not to mention the slide into a lake, get stuck in a swamp, and the ever popular let wife drive test - rover survived them all.

if your are gonna trash a perfectly innocent rover at least come up with something new...
and film it please!

where is this rover-trashing gonna take place? i know a couple of medics who will work standby for free if its close to our home...

Maybe the point of this thread is to proclaim how bullet proof these things are, not really to trash a vehicle. It is obvious we all love our trucks but some times we just want to have fun and say you'll never believe what this one guy did in his Rover. That's why I bought mine, I was floored from the first time the dealer took me on the test track at the dealership.

PLEASE DON'T KILL IT! This car has served you so well and taken care of you for years and it really does not deserve it. Enjoy it off the road but I don't see the point in just trying things that you know will damage the rig. Donate it. We all know people need it in this economy. I agree with Spike completely.

I agree that, if you are mad enough at the rover to want to kill it then by all means DONATE it to someone in need

on the other hand if you are fortunate enough to afford having a trial rig you can tow to the woods you are about to discover how capable your car is - mainly for this reason = when you get to the point were body damage is not a concern you can go almost anywhere.

It is the threat of body damage that keeps most of us on the puss side of the trail, others don't care how many tickets they get and care less about the condition of their vehicle.

You'll want to keep the cab in good order even without exterior body panels - I get a kick out of open tops for this reason = mmm heater/AC, stereo, and a little protection from the rocks being kicked up by the inexperienced dork in front of you

Enjoy do not destroy = NO DISASSEMBLE!!!!
