My ACE block on my '00 Discovery 2 was leaking, rather badly. 274K on the truck, everything working great, except the valve block leak. When evaluated by my local indy shop, they said that the valve block was the problem, that pulling the lines to replace seals may not fix the leak, due to deterioration of the block. The new unit was way too much so I searched and found a replacement. I found Design and Development Engineering, LTD in the UK.
This company rebuilds and upgrades the ACE Valve block by machining hydraulic hoses with all new seals, switches and solenoids. All I had to do was remove the old valve block, (cleaned and color coded the steel lines with colored electrical tape), install the new unit, then cut and attach the new hoses. Works fine and no more leaks.
New upgraded ACE valve block Installation compete.
Yes, I used a small tubing cutter to cut each pipe after I bolted on the new valve block. I had used different colored electrical tape and color coded each pipe, as well as each hose on the new unit, just to make sure I made all the correct connections.
