What part or surface of the seats in my ‘00 Disco 2 is leather? I would assume where you sit is, as well as the perforated back area, but how about the sides? The entire seat front and back of it? Just curious when cleaning the seats I want to use the correct products.

Pretty sure it is all leather. Lexol is usually what is recommended.

 

The sides aren’t. I have a spare squab and can confirm.

 

sides and backs are plastic. The seating surfaces (backrest/bottom) are leather...BUT.....I have seen some with some of the seating panels in plastic, mixed with other panels in leather.....possible repairs? or factory (depending on available resources...???)

 

When you say plastic you mean vinyl yeah? Or are you referring to the hard plastic trim pieces.

 

vinyl is a plastic...and yes, the seat material, not finishers...

 

Totally! Didn't meant to sound snarky. I've just never heard of it referred to as plastic (though yes, it obviously is haha). Usually I just hear it referred to as vinyl and wanted to make sure we were talking about the same part.

 

you didn't, i'm just matter of fact. ...that vinyl really shows when you wear it out and the white stuffing shows through. Another thing, the armrests and center console lid. Some are vinyl, and some are leather. Took me a while to gather a good set of leather ones....you can tell by how it pushes away when you rub it, and by the stiching...
