Have done dome and cargo light with good results. A C light might not work as well as clear plastic tube used for duct

see LED Lights, Bulbs & Accessories - SUPER BRIGHT LEDS

see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ighlight=light

I used some square printed circuit board style with maybe 9 bulbs on them and soldered the wires in. They also have "festoon" models that will snap in. Some swaps won't work because LEDs tend to project in one direction, and some applications need glow in all around direction.

Just out of curiosity...I'm not against doing this but if it ain't broke why fix it?

Are you just going for a different look or light color?

Good question, I have some light bulbs out, one dome and the temperature controller button lights - gotta get those fixed soon, fumbling around in the dark is no fun.
I just thought there might be a LED that would give a longer/more durable term solution....

i don't know. But - I found that the two dome lights and the cargo light draw so much power that the multi-function unit (MFU) overheats an internal part when dimming these lamps. They are drawing over 20 watts of power for those three bulbs, and controlling it with a transistor that is rated for 55 watts when on a heat sink, but only 1 watt in free air. My failed MFU had a small hole melted in the case above that transistor. I view the swap to lower current - more light LEDs as a way to extend the life of the MFU. Plus there is enough light so I can check my Depends after a night time increase-the-pucker-factor with the Death Wobble.

Very good, thank you Buzz.

They sell LED dome light bulbs at AutoZone, I might look into it.

I think my squares came from there. They dim in steps like the regular bulbs.
