Lift kit for discovery 2
Well Im kind of confused on which lift kit to buy for my 02' disco series 2. I was originally going to purchase a OME full 1.75" lift kit and came across another site with a 3" lift. But at the bottom it says driveshaft not included with 3" and 5" lifts so im wondering if i need a different driveshaft for the 3"? Also i have no experience with lift kits and was wondering if the 1.75 lift would make much of a difference in ride height and will i need a different driveshaft for the OME 1.75 lift? All help is appreciated.

What are you planning on doing with your truck? You don't have a locking t/case so you won't be doing any hard core wheeling. Will you have to park it in a garage, most tall 3" lifts won't make it into a garage.
OME lifts will give you a good 2"s of lift and you won't need a drive shaft change out till you clear 3 Plus inches.

The goal of a lift should be to clear the tires, cause they are directly related to differential clearance. With that said, the lower you stay, the better in term of adverse effect on driveline angles, brakes and gearing. If you do not plan on addressing these things, you should get the OME 2 inch lift and run 245/75-16, 265/70-16 or if you gotta have the biggest possible with such a lift, 265/75-16. But that latest size starts to seriously affect braking and gearing. And no you do not need to address the driveshafts with a 2 inch lift, other than changing the u-joints for greasable ones in front.

thanks for the replies. I just have a little fun offroading on weekends and no i do not park in a parking garage or garage. I really like the look of a lifted rover also.
