Default Lift it up!

So ive decided i want to go with a Suspension lift!
My question is how much of a difference would it make from 2" to 3"?

Price?
Parts?

Right now im leaning towards a 2" lift. But i cant find a good site to get the Springs and shocks. . . Rovertym never answers my emails. . .

Anybody have a good site?

What are you lifting it for, what sort of wheeling do you do?
General cost is around $700 for either the RTE or the OME, then it is just a mater of deciding which set of coils you want, soft, medium, HD or extra Hd, depending on what you use your truck for.
By the way, don't wait for RTE to answer your e-mail, could be Xmas before they do, ask us, we can help.

Just basic trail stuff, Little mud here and there. Nothing insane. But i would like to Get the Detriot Locker, T.T. Set in the future. . .Dont know if that would change anything. . .
Im guessing the soft's are for getting the most articulation?
And the extra HD is for the smoothest ride with the looks?

Im ready to invest if i can find a honest dealer for the shocks and springs.

What year is your Disco?? Makes a difference,
And no, soft or HD makes no difference in your articulation.

hd springs are what i use, when i pull my boat it doesnt even squat in the back... the guys at rovertym are hard to get hold of sometimes, your best bet with them is call, if you do get in touch with them they are normally super helpful, i have their 2" HD springs and OME long travel shocks and have been very happy with the setup...

Extra HD is going to give a very harsh ride unless loaded to max capacity. HD that most of us run gives a good trade off between ride quality and load capacity. Medium will give a softer ride but will feels the effects of weight more when you load up the truck. All the springs/shocks are going to give you about the same articulation. Your tire size is going to limit your articulation more than the springs.

As I asked last time you brought up this subject, have you completed the 60K service yet? Getting all your maintenance current is more important than a lift, unless looking pretty sitting in the driveway is the goal.

AK, I have not reached 60,000Miles quite yet, Its a 1998 Disco I, And im looking at doing this:
Lifting it 2" with RTE Springs Medium, And OME shocks
ARB safari Snokel
Set of new BF goodrich A/T TA KO's
And a new rear bumper cause i hate the look of the plastic corners, One has already busted off

In the future after i start Off Roading more i want:
Detriot Locker in the rear, T.T. In the front
New HD axles, If i need them for the lockers.
New Push bar in the front
And just some fun little accessories from RTE, Like Rock sliders and such.

Heres a couple vid's of what she can do stock.

Look at RTE's rear bumper, go front and rear and you'll be set.
You won't need the HD axles for the T.T.'s but will want them for the Detroit.

AK is right about the 60k service. Even if you haven't reached 60k yet, consider this, unless YOU have changed them, all the things that the 60k service calls for may have been on or in your truck for the better part of 12 years depending on the actual manufacture date. If you want to keep it running like it does now, or possibly even improve how it runs, spend a little money on PREVENTATIVE maintenance. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention goes a long way.
