Default lights

hey guys i have a problem with my headlights that i was wondering if you could help me out with. recently i noticed that my headlights werent as bright as they usualy are. when i turn my lights on they are very dim and you can hardly tell they are on. looking head on in the night you can tell that they are on but produce no light in front of the truck. another thing is that my brights work perfect so i end up driving with my brights on about 90% of the time only to turn my foglights on while im in the city. i want to replace my bulbs with a brighter HID type bulbs but a buddy of mine said that i dont need new bulbs becuase the brights are still working. he says that i need to get the regular driving lights adjusted some how. does this make sense to anyone? what should i do?

the low beam filament might be dead. just replace the bulbs. theyre cheap. the dim light you see is a separate 5w bulb that turns on with the parking lights.

Are you saying both low beams are dim?
What about your High beams?

Yeah, you have both low beams burned out. The glow from the parking lights threw me off too. Looks like the lights are on, but nothing coming out. At night, look at the front of the truck with the parking lights on. Dim glow from a small bulb in the headlamp..... Turn on your lights, if you don't get any more, your low beams are out on both sides.
