Default List of Problems

SoI went to my local Roverdealership for a check up and here is what they found.
-Everything is labor and installation
-I have a Discovery II with about 75k

Oil leaking from either valve cover gasket or rear main seal gasket. They said start at the top and work your way down to see where it is coming from.
Valve cover gasket - 650.00
Rear Main - 1500.00

Coolant leaking either from them putting some in or bad water pump
Water Pump replaced - 250.00

Worn Serpantine belt
Replaced - 240.00

Brakes have about 20% life on them.
240.00

O2 sensors all bad, check engine light comes on for it.
Just O2's to buy out right no installation - 700.00

I can buy a water pump for cheap online and install it myself along with the serpantine belt. My question is should i take the remaining things to the dealer ship to have it fixed. Or do you guy's know anyone locally i might be able to take it to. I'm from Colorado by the way.

Thanks for the help ahead of time,
-Terry

Default RE: List of Problems

Hello
The Stealership told me my gasket was leaking oil, however I examined and discovered that the oil coolant line was leaking. I replaced it and purchased online for around $100.00. Others have stated that this is common on the Discoveries. I have a 99 Disco I. If this is the problem, I here there are some better made ones available; to bad it was after I purchased mine.
I am an amatuer in fixing cars, but i was able to change my brakes. Look for a thread from Disco Mike (I think) it goes step by step. If you changed your serpt. belt, you cando the breaks. Take it easy!
Good Luck.
