Locked out of my 2003 disco 2, HELP!
Background:
What I have been doing is locking the car from the inside on the dash button, and just leaving the driver side door open as there isn’t that much crime in my area.
Not an immediate issue as I planned to fix soon.
TODAY:
Driver door decided to start working today without my knowledge the one time I decided to lock it from the passenger door.
So I shut the passenger door, thinking the driver door will remain unlocked, locking me out.
Any simple solutions to get into the truck without breaking a window? Can I use a wire hangar at a sweet spot in the door to unlock from the inside?
Any help would be appreciated.
- Bought used.
- Driver Door doesn’t lock
- keyhole to manually lock or unlock doesn’t work - Jammed or something
- Key fob also doesn’t work.
- Doesn’t lock when pressing button inside either

If the drivers door doesn't lock/unlock from the key hole it's likely a broken pot metal rod from the lock cylinder to the actuator. You can get an upgraded one from ebay/Amazon/ your favorite rover supplier online.
As for getting it open with a hanger..I've never tried to slim jim a rover but I bet it sets off the immobilizer. Maybe an expert can chime in on this, I hope I'm wrong.
If it does be prepared to hear the alarm go off and if you don't have a working door lock to perform the "lock unlock code" you'll need a nanocom to access the security system to unbrick it.

Fixing issue long term is no biggie.
