Have to change the whole case and add linkage or solenoid actuation. I think going with one out of an 04 is the easiest route..

You can usually find someone parting out a Disco, install their t/case and then sell your old one.

You have to be stopped and in N to shift to low. That's it. Traction control should take care of the rest.

Have fun!

When using traction control, and the 03 has the new updated t/c, run at steady speeds, don't get on and off the gas or you'll just keep turning the t/c off. Here in Colorado, I have been amazed at how well on 03 can do in the rough and the snow as long as it has a good set of tires on it.

I have to say, I'm impressed with my traction control so far. I finally got to use it in the snow and ice and I couldn't get the tires to spin. I was pretty skeptical with all of it's open differentials. I did notice the tc light coming on briefly when going up an icy hill, what exactly was this telling me?

Whenever the t/c light comes on it is just letting you know the system has activated to keep you moving, this light comes and goes as it is working.
