Ok, Here is a picture of the emblem that was on the 2003... What is this telling us about the diff lock? Is this an aftermarket or OEM emblem?

What is this telling us about the diff lock? its telling you it doesn't have one.
or at least it did not come from the factory with one.

Like drow said, that's the factory sticker that says, don't try to lock me.

Actually, that is a factory label that says "yes, I do have a CDL" - or at least a sticker that is implying I have one, so is worthy of further investigation.

The factory 2004 label looked like the ones shown in the link above - but pg1 on this post showed yet another label!!!

For the OP - take a look at the roof bars - these were thicker on the 2004 models. '99 to 03 were all the same.

Didn't even notice that on the bottom right corner, you're right. Not trying to self-promote here, but I suggest anyone that goes with a CDL set up add the sticker that makes it painfully simple to use. It's what I did - '

Agreed - that is the most obvious of all of them for explanation.

Well if it wasn't for the level tilted to the right... I wouldn't have bothered with this discussion.

BTW the link doesn't work for me...

If it is a 2004 linkage.. how much should I pay at the scrap yard?

If you tell them is is a linkage only fitted to the 2004 and sells on ebay for $300+, then that's what you will probably pay lol.
If you just walk up, plonk it on the counter, and ask them a price, they'll likely say $15. Maybe $20. At least that's what I paid when I bought a cable shifter from some junky chevy for another project...

Not sure why link is dead. Go to http://www.discovery2.co.uk then "off road add-ons" and it is at the bottom.

Ok, know after checking out that link I'm pretty certain that this vehicle has had the diff lock added.

I'm going to go and check it out this week or next.

I'll print a copy of the instruction so they can see how to remove the unit I need.

What did people do before internet forums???
