Default as long as this is suspension day

I am looking to replace my shocks.
I have new Arrnott bags for the rear with 2-in. lifts for the bags that all looks straight forward.
My question is shocks, do I need special shocks because of the ACE?
Some manufactures site have notes saying that they will or will not fit with ACE. Shouldn't it be all or nothing; either a stock length shock fits or it doesnt.
Should I just buy shocks that are 2-in. over for when the ACE is in the offroad mode or would that cause the shock to bottom out under normal use.
I dont have any plans to lift this thing or run the baja I broke my back a few months a go so I have to have a decent ride.
If i didnt have the SLS i would even put the lift in the rear, but i figure it would come in handy towing.

Default Very few actually know...

Short answer: no, you don't need special shocks or special length shocks for the ACE system - so i've been told. I found all that confusing mix-reports info myself when researching to replace my originals too.

Longer answer: I have since yanked out the malfunctioning SLS system but still have the ACE and it works great. I have standard length shocks and I don't see why/how there would be any difference other then possible extension length. The originals I took off appeared standard and were the same length. Atlantic British is one of the companies that list shocks for w/ and w/o ACE...yet when I asked them about the differences and why other Rover parts places didn't have separate shocks for ACE, they said they "have no idea but the manufacturer we get them from has them listed that way".

So, good luck, but I wouldn't sweat it, but I also don't know jack.
