1St & foremost: "service engine soon" light came on with only 1 week of ownership

 

The software for a LR is called "Test Book", but any OBDII scanner will read/clear codes.

As for your door locks, your actuators are bad.
The motors inside them is to weak to unlock the doors, it will click and try to work, but it wont actually unlock it.
You can rebuild them with new high speed motors from Radio Shack.
Otherwise you can get used parts from....

thanks for the quick reply! stupid question, do i need a new actuator for each door? and how easy is this as a DIY job on a scale of 1 - 10?

Spike, there may be something else going on with his truck, especially since his super lock isn't working either. I would hold on the actuators till you can have some one verify the actual problem.
