Hey All, a huge thanks to all of you for your very informative posts. I picked up a 99 Discovery I about 18 months ago. I near perfect cosmetic shape, 79k miles and super clean running (per the California Smog Patrol). It had a bit of a dirty bottom but slowly I am getting leaks fixed, thank goodness for Simple Green! I have a leaking front crank seal and leaking oil lines, upper and lower. Just replaced a leaking water pump and s-belt. Last summer changed the plug wires. Changed everything over to Mobil 1 Synthetics and Mobil 1 Heavy Duty Filter. In addition to the oile lines and crank seal, have new tie-rod (ball joint) ends on the list of things to. This Forum has been great! Got theradio codefixed, and have cautioned more than on DII owner about the front drive shaft. I have especially enjoyed watching "How much would you pay for 98 Land Rover" transformation. Thanks again! Phil

Welcome, I jst purchased a 99 DII and love it, I'm here in cali as well an I have some 'leaks' also. The transfer case, bottom of the oil pan, the normal places you notice leaks but I wish I didn't have them at all. Oh and now I have the throttle body coolant leak - called yesterday for the new gasket its only $20 so I need to make that trip to the stealership. Congrats and welcome.
