Well, ok, I've had it two months. ;-)

But I've never pulled a door panel before, and Robover's nice write up from this morning notwithstanding, I'm still a little nervous about it.

I'm going to tentatively assume that my vapor barriers are gone, unless the mechanic at the Little Lot is very impressive... but I need to pull the RF and LR panels to look at the lock actuators, neither of which seem to be working. RF was, LR wasn't, when I bought it.

I'm speculating the RF plug just came loose.

I've read the RAVE, but I'd like to see pictures of the 10 spring clips, so I know what I'm up against; anyone got a door open right now that they can take pictures of?

Do you really *need* that fork-tool to pop the clips without trashing the door panel?

No you dont really need that tool.I had to replace my driver window regulator a couple weeks ago and had no problems getting the door panel off.Just go slow and pry gently and good luck.

The fork tool just helps to not break those clips. Those are billet turned clips made only in a factory on the Scottish moors. They are not cheap. So go slow be careful and maybe try an actual fork.

Ah. The Scottish moors. Of course.

Are they flown in by Nigerians?

Get the tool, the fiberboard the panels are made of are brittle and will crack and the clips will not attach to the panel when you go to reinstall. The tool is cheap.

Noted; thanks. I'm used to a long flat piece of spring steel with the slot; hadn't seen the handled type.

Say yes to the tool, you will thank us later. Besides it works on just about every vehicle out there. Just a note on the clips or "fastners", they are available from most of the usual rover parts outlets, and I tried to find some at the local auto parts stores with NO luck so the less of them you break the better. AND......the side doors take different ones than the rear door panel. If you broke one or two you could put things back together with out much problem anyway.

and I believe that the Bulgarians have the flight contract, unless they have been recently outbid by the Nigerians (lol)
