Default Long trip preparation

I am plannnig a long road trip from Maryland up and through Canada. If Land Rovers break easily, how does one prepare the car so there are no break downs on the road trip? Suggestions?

Spare parts brake light switch and this phone # in your cell 1-800-533-2210
Atlantic British.
Make sure that you have oil changed and all fluids checked other than that
if you are up to date on tuneup and other things your good!!

My local indie shop, California Rover has a 140 point inspection plan. They will take you through your truck and point out everything they see wrong, and give you an itemized quote. They'll also tell you the major items, vs. the 'you can waits'. I use that info to fix stuff myself, and choose their services for things I don't have the ability to fix or would take me much longer, like differentials.

If nothing else, it provides piece of mind. I wouldn't recommend this at every shop, only the really upfront honest ones.

Calculate how many miles the trip will be. Will you need a oil change before you get back home? That is the big one.
You didnt say if you had a DI or DII. If you have a DII I would make sure that your front driveshaft has been rebuilt. But other than making sure that all the maintence is upto date you are good to go.
And Rover dont break easily, they are actually more robust, the preoblem is negelect. And because they are a low volume import parts and repair shops are not on every corner.
Remember when Toyota first came to the US? Nobody could fix them or get parts for them. Now parts are repair shops are as easy as a Chevy.
If LR imported as many trucks as Toyota then they would be just as easy/cheap to repair.
