I am looking at a 2001 discovery 2. It has 140k and they are asking 3k. Is this worth it? The truck looks & drives great. There is a humming noise when its one, but goes away when you push on the gas. Inwas told it could be a thermostat Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have the heads been done? If you don't know assume no... That's gonna need doing soon. Front prop shaft same deal. Does it tick or knock at start up and hot?
All depends on history. Prop shaft is 300 ish heads are between 350 and 2500 depending if you do them or if you sub it out. Get a pre-inspection from someone who knows Rovers.. Good luck
