The dealer lowballed the poor person who traded it in

 

I already have a d1 linkage in my 99 I put it in a few months ago. Made interior of truck very noisy Im going to pull the console and see if I can quiet it down with more grease in the shifter and some soundproofing under the console.
I was only considering an 04 in lieu of having to do so much work to the engine and valves but sounds like I would be doing the same to an 04 in a few years. I presently have 200K body in good shape new brakes and oil , new diff + xfer oil, about to flush tranny, still need to flush Pwsteering change thermostat, fan etc. I will probably always keep the 99 even if I get another one. I just wanted to see if I would be better off with newer one. sounds like keeping the 99 is the best deal if I'm going to do all that service anyway. I don't mind doing most of the work. I just can't be without a vehicle for more than a day or 2.
A dilemma what to do.
